Kim Hayman Memorial Fund

Kim was a tireless advocate for those in need, championing women’s rights to healthcare, fighting for the safety and well-being of neglected and abused children, and feeding the hungry. Her passion was rooted in doing what was right for any individual in need, precisely when they needed it most.

To honor Kim’s enduring legacy, in partnership with Temple University Law School, in the spring of 2025, we have established an endowed fund: The Sunflower Award for Public Interest (“Fund”). Starting in 2026, this Fund will annually recognize and award a first-year law student who commits to summer advocacy between their first and second years of law school. Eligible advocacy areas include:

• Women’s healthcare rights (e.g., Planned Parenthood)
• Homeless advocacy (e.g., Homeless Advocacy Project, Project Home)
• Child protection (e.g., Support Center for Child Advocates)
• Legal assistance for underserved communities (e.g., Community Legal Services)

Through this award, we aim to inspire and support the next generation of advocates who embody Kim’s dedication to justice and compassion.
